Grants available

The Community Involvement Team gives funding to formally recognised tenant and resident groups, TRACC and individual people who get involved. The following table shows how groups are funded and details of what the money should be spent on:

Grants from Six Town Housing

Grants are available for active, constituted Tenant and Resident Associations to cover running costs (such as postage, phone calls, stationary etc). Groups apply for funds that they require over a 6 month or 12 month period.

For further information or to receive a grant pack, please access the Six Town Housing website link below or contact Six Town Housing’s Community Involvement Team on 0161 686 8000.

Groups can apply for a maximum of £500 over the year, in no more than two applications.

Community Grant from Six Town Housing

A Community Grant is available to all constituted Tenant and Resident Associations to help make a difference in their area. It could cover costs of a community event, project or activity. Groups can apply for a grant up to £500 and there is no limit on how many times you apply. All applications will be considered by a Community Grant Panel (staff and tenants) every 2 months.

To receive a grant pack or if you need help completing the application form, please contact the Community Involvement Team at Six Town Housing on 0161 686 8000 or email enquiries@sixtownhousing.org

Other grants

There are numerous organisations that constituted tenant and resident groups can apply to for extra funds and grants. These funds are particularly useful for groups who would like to expand their activities and address such issues as:

  • Environmental improvements
  • Facilities for young people
  • Play / sports provision
  • Purchasing IT equipment
  • Crime and safety

We will help groups look for funding - contact the Community Involvement Team with your ideas.

The 'EGRAB' facility on Bury Council's web-site may also be able to help. It offers information and links on funding opportunities.
