Tenant Participation Agreement Neighbourhood Charter

Six Town Housing has a Tenant Participation Agreement (88KB, 8 pages, PDF) in place which is an agreement between tenants, council staff and councillors on the standards that will be met for tenant involvement in Bury. It sets out various opportunities for participation and resources available to achieve effective results. The overall aim of the Compact is to help ensure the success of tenant involvement across Bury. This is currently being reviewed and a new Tenant & Resident Participation Agreement is now available in draft form for your comments

The agreement sets out how Tenants and Residents can get involved in housing services and how Six Town Housing will communicate with Tenants and Residents.

Neighbourhood Charters

The Community Involvement Team can assist tenant and resident groups to produce a Neighbourhood Charter for their estates.  A Neighbourhood Charter is a document laying down mutual rights, responsibilities and expectations for those living, and agencies providing services, within an area.

It defines acceptable behaviour and informs the community as to the roles of the local service providers.  It is an effective way of involving the local community.

On Saturday 26 April 2008 Dumers Estate launched the first Charter in the borough.               Dumers Neighbourhood Charter was officially signed at a fun day for the estate.
