Safe and secure
Date: Thursday 9th July, 2009
Thanks to the work of the Bolton Road Tenant and Residents' Association, tenants now feel safer in their homes.
A range of new security devices have been fitted to properties in the area, including door scopes and chains, window locks, door alarms and personal alarms. Funding for the work was secured from the Police Property Act Fund. The work was carried out by our caretaking team.
Donna Cartwright, community involvement officer for Six Town Housing, said: “It has been a great success and it has made so many people feel more secure and safer in their own homes.”
Police community support officers also visited the homes of vulnerable and elderly residents to discuss their personal safety.
Due to its success, St Thomas estate in Radcliffe has just applied for funding to carry out its own scheme.
