Six Town Housing is on the move
Date: Thursday 17th June, 2010
As most people will already know, Bury town centre is undergoing major redevelopment and expansion works. As part of this development, Six Town Housing will be moving to new purpose built state of the art accommodation at Townside Fields next year.
Our new offices will be part of a complex of new buildings which will include Bury Council, Bury Primary Care Trust, Premier Inns Hotels, a Multi Storey Car Park and residential apartment buildings. There will also be a restaurant and Costa Coffee on the ground floor. Part of this work is already complete and occupied by the Primary Care Trust and Bury Council. Our new premises are now also well underway and construction should be completed by December 2010. Six Town Housing are planning to move in by April 2011.
Who will be moving to this new accommodation?
All staff from Bradley Fold (Repairs and Maintenance depot), and Point Blue ( Six Town Housing’s main office), will be making this move.
How will tenants and visitors access this building?
Prior to the construction of this building a travel plan was designed to make sure both staff and tenants could easily access this new building. This has taken into account car parking, the metro-link, bus services, cycle and pedestrian access. If you would like further information about this plan please contact Mark Foster at Six Town Housing who will discuss this with you.
Why are we moving to new accommodation?
The benefits of this move will be more customer focused, central location, the whole team together, and a cost saving by all being under one roof rather than dispersed throughout several buildings.
We will keep you updated on progress.
