Gas safety and servicing

If you smell gas in your home, please ring in the first instance:


It is essential that the gas appliances in your home are inspected every twelve months to ensure they are safe to use.  A gas appliance that has not been checked and is operating dangerously can present a serious risk and in extreme circumstances can be fatal. Our policy is to carry out this check every 10 months.

Our qualified gas engineers will ensure your appliances are safe and working efficiently to help keep your heating bills down.

We have a legal duty to inspect the gas appliances in your home every year.   Most of our customers let us in to do the annual gas check, but there are the odd few who don’t. 

Two weeks before we come into your area, we will send you a letter providing you with a morning or afternoon appointment for your gas appliances to be serviced. If this is not convenient you will be able to contact our gas servicing contractor to arrange a more suitable time.

If you do not let us in, we will take you to court to get permission to enter your home. You could then face a huge legal bill amounting to over £700.
