Improvements to your home - your choices

INTERNAL IMPROVEMENTS

Kitchens

If you are getting a new kitchen, we will:

• Strip out your existing kitchen;
• Fit a new kitchen, including new units, worktops, handles, sink and taps;
• Tile in between any worktops and wall units;
• Lay a new floor covering;
• Emulsion the walls and ceilings;
• Rewire your kitchen and provide an additional plug socket; 
• Install an electrical fan to hep prevent condensation; and
• Plumb in any existing washing machine.

We will offer you a choice of colours for your cabinets, work surfaces and floor covering. This can be done when a member of staff calls to see you during the initial visit.

Bathrooms

If you need a new bathroom, we will:

• Strip out your bathroom;
• Fit a new bath (with handles), wash hand basin and toilet;
• Tile the walls around the bath and the splash back above the sink;
• If you have an electric shower, this will be re-sited for you and correctly wired up. We will tile the walls around the shower. Should you require a “walk in “ shower because you are unable to use a bath, this will also be considered; 
• Install an electrical fan to assist in the prevention of condensation;
• Lay a new floor covering;
• Rewire; and
• Emulsion the walls and ceilings.

Your bathroom suite and tiles will be white in colour, but we will offer you a choice of colours for the floor coverings. This will be discussed with you when a member of staff calls to see you on the initial visit.

Heating

If we need to replace your boiler, we will: 

• Remove your existing boiler;
• Fit a modern combination boiler (known as a ‘combi’); and 
• Ensure every room in your home has a radiator with thermostatic valves so that you set the temperature you want in each room.

EXTERNAL IMPROVEMENTS

Windows and Doors

If we need to replace your windows and doors, we will:  

• Remove existing windows and doors; 
• Fit uPVC windows to each existing opening;
• Renew your front and rear external doors with either hardwood or composite doors;
• Stain all external hardwood doors; and
• Fit new door hardware including threshers, locks, spy holes, letter plates and handles.

 

Roofing

If we need to renew your roof, we will:

• Erect scaffolding;
• Disconnect any gas fires to carry out Gas Safe spillage tests;
• Remove existing tiles or slates;
• Renew roof battens and felting;
• Install or top up existing loft insulation to 300mm;
• Renew soffits and fascias in uPVC;
• Renew rain water pipes and guttering;
• Fit new slates or tiles;
• Point chimneys and renew flashings;
• Reconnect gas fire; and
• Remove scaffolding.
