How are we doing?

Strict deadlines for the Right to Buy service are set by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM), who have the authority to fine Council’s who do not keep within the timescales set.

Bury Metropolitan Borough Council and now Six Town Housing have never been penalized by the ODPM.

Form RTB2 (Notice in Reply to Tenant’s Right to Buy Claim) must be sent out within 28 days of receipt of Form RTB1 (application form).

Following receipt of Form RTB1, the Section 125 notice (offer notice) must be issued within 12 weeks for houses and 16 weeks for flats.

The table below shows the number of applications for the last two years and the percentage
of responses which were within the deadlines set.
