Estate Walkabouts
Estate Walkabouts
Every month your Community Housing Officer will be out and about in part of the area that they manage to look at all sorts of issues that affect your estate.
From looking at untidy gardens and communal areas to checking for abandoned cars and fly tipping, their role is to ensure that your estate is a pleasant place to live. Estate walkabouts normally last about 2 hours.
Want to join us on a walkabout?
For these walkabouts to be as successful as possible we encourage people living on the estate to join us. This is to help us undertake a through inspection and to ensure that we are aware of as many issues as possible. We can then either contact tenants if they are breaking their tenancy agreement, get our caretakers to undertake some works or liaise with another council department to ensure that they are fulfilling their responsibilities.
If you want to join us then we do ask that you let us know at least 2 days in advance. You will need to contact us and we will let you know where the walkabout will start from. It is important that you let us know if you want to come so we know how many people to expect and also that we can let you know if there is any change to the inspection. You can let us know by phoning us on 0161 686 8000 or e-mail us at enquiries@sixtownhousing.org
