When we get a report regarding tipping it is important to establish who the owner of the land is.  If the land belongs to Highways Department, this will be reported to their Customer Services section on 0161 253 5353 for further investigation.  If the land belongs to housing this can be reported to us on 0161 686 8000.  

A visit to the area follows and action taken to clear the area.  If there is evidence  to show who has been tipping, this information is shared with Environmental Health Department who will look to prosecute under the Environmental Health Act 1990.

If the land is in private ownership, a report is passed to Environmental Services.
