Ending Your Tenancy

Image-removal van and men

If you have decided to move out of your home you must tell us at least 4 weeks before you intend to leave. If you leave without telling us we may charge you rent for those 4 weeks.

When you leave your home you must leave it in the same condition as when you first moved in:

- If you leave any of your belongings in the property or grounds we will remove them and you may be charged for the disposing of them.
- If you damage the property you may be charged for repairs.

We will want to inspect your property before you move out. This is to ensure that there is no damage and to agree on any items that you have installed that you may want to leave in the property such as an electric shower or built-in wardrobes. We will let you know if we want you to remove them before you move out. If we ask you to remove them and you leave them, we will recharge you for doing the work ourselves. If you do not make an appointment for us to visit you before you move out, we may send you a bill for items that you have left in the property as well.

If you are a joint tenant, if either of you gives notice that will end the tenancy for both of you. Neither of you has the automatic right to stay in the property. Please speak to us before you give notice if just one of you wants to leave.

When you tell us you would like to end your tenancy we will also ask you why you are choosing to move. We want to try and learn what we may be able to do better to keep our customers for longer.

If you want to terminate your tenancy, please download, print and sign the termination of tenancy form. Please then send it to us at Point Blue.
