Tenancy Agreements

Every tenant of Six Town Housing signs a Tenancy Agreement. The Tenancy Agreement is a contract between you the tenant and Six town Housing for housing services.

Your Tenancy

There are two types of tenancy agreement:
1. If you have been a tenant for at least 12 months you are a secure council tenant.
2. If you have been a tenant for less than 12 months, you will probably be an introductory tenant.

You have fewer rights if you are an introductory tenant - but as long as there are no problems during the first 12 months of your tenancy, you will automatically become a secure tenant. You then get the full legal rights of a secure tenant. See Introductory tenancies for more information.
