Seedfield Tenant and Resident Association (TRA) had an afternoon coach trip to Bolton Museum, Art Gallery and Aquarium last week following a successful bid for community funding through Bury Council.

The trip was attended by 48 residents from the area, and ended with a fish and chip supper at the Olympus Restaurant.

Seedfield TRA run Winter Blues Breakers events that aim to give elderly neighbours of the area something to look forward to during the darker days of winter. The events were awarded funding from Bury Council’s ‘The Pitch’, a project that offers grants for community led events that aim to help the wellbeing of local people.

Gary Hardman, Chair of Seedfield TRA, said, “We know the winter months can be hard for some people, especially the older generations, which is why we run these events. We were really lucky to be granted funding from The Pitch. It was great seeing everyone come together.”

The TRA also run a weekly Winter Warmers Lunch Club every Tuesday. This event is open to any local residents. If you are interested in attending, please book via Jean Giblin on 0161 764 6583.
