Corrie Gardeners, a community group based in and around Coronation Gardens in Radcliffe, successfully bid for funding to take local families to a Christmas pantomime.

37 children attended the performance of Aladdin at the Albert Halls in Bolton with their parents and grandparents on Saturday 7th December.

Tina Harrison, chair of Corrie Gardeners, said, "Panto is a tradition of Christmas and we wanted as many families as possible from the area to come together to experience it. We successfully received funding from Bury Council's The Pitch, a grant from Six Town Housing and funds from the community group to offer a discounted ticket rate to families. All the children received a goody bag containing sweets from Tesco Bury and a selection box funded by local Councillors."

“The children could sing, boo, shout to their hearts content without their parents feeling uncomfortable and we are considering making this an annual event.”
