Throughout December, the Tenant Engagement Team worked in partnership with Bury Council’s Support at Home Services and our Tenant and Residents Associations to provide 11 Christmas parties in our Retirement Living and sheltered schemes across Bury.

The parties were funded by Six Town Housing to help bring neighbours together and tackle loneliness and isolation at Christmas time after a difficult 2-year period. All together, we managed to engage with over 300 residents. We could not have facilitated these events without the help of Bury Council Support Service Staff and our fabulous volunteers, so we’d like to give a huge thank you to them.

Naomi Exton, Tenant Engagement Office, said, “We were able to connect with our residents and give something back to those within our sheltered and extra care schemes. Loneliness and social isolation are becoming a growing problem, especially since the pandemic. It’s important to deliver projects within our communities to help tackle this and have a positive impact on our resident’s health and wellbeing, allowing them to build on social connections.”
