Following an extensive consultation exercise, the Regulator for Social Housing recently released details on the new Tenant Satisfaction Measures (TSM) that will come into play next year.

The TSMs are designed to provide data about landlords’ performance and the quality of their services. TSMs are intended to help tenants evaluate how their landlord is performing and hold them to account.

Registered Provider landlords, including local councils, will have to demonstrate to the Regulator that the voices of their tenants are being heard and acted on.

The TSMs include information measures such as health and safety compliance and tenant perception measures, to be collected through landlords’ surveys of tenants. We already collect a lot of this data but will start to survey customers in the coming months to gain more details about levels of satisfaction across a range of service areas. We will also publish the results on our website, once we have a large enough sample.

Details on the TSMs can be found here.
