Residents at the Christmas sing-a-long run by Seedfield TRA

Seedfield Tenant and Resident Association (TRA) in Moorside, Bury are running a series of 'Winter Blues Breakers' events within their local community, with an aim to tackle isolation over the colder, darker months.

The first event, an evening supper-social and Members Meeting, occurred on Monday 18th November, while a Christmas sing-a-long took place on Friday 6th December. A further coach trip to Bolton Museum, Art Gallery & Aquarium, followed by a chippie supper, is being arranged for Thursday 6th February.

Gary Hardman, Chair of Seedfield TRA, said, "Our TRA runs events mainly through the winter months as this meets the needs of most of our local community. The Winter Blues Breaker events are being run following a bid for funding from Bury Council's The Pitch and they have been successful at bringing together the elderly residents of Seedfield”.

“Our weekly Winter Warmer Lunch Club is also up and running every Tuesday over the winter months. This has been funded by Tesco’s ‘Bags for Help’ as well as by Forever Manchester's AutoTrader Fund”.
