Meet: Amy Kirk

Amy Kirk has acquired an apprenticeship as an admin assistant at Six Town Housing after hearing about their Steps To Success (S2S) programme through her father who works there.

S2S initially helped Amy source a four week work placement as she had never worked in an office before and did not know if she would like it. This was supported with mentoring from a member of staff. Amy found that she felt comfortable straight away and used what she had learned from the work placement and mentoring to successfully complete her interview for the apprenticeship.

Amy’s job involves general admin work such as filing, printing, setting up rooms for meetings and more.

Amy said, “S2S has helped me with my confidence the most because I use to be shy and now I’m always on the phone and meeting new people all the time.”
