Some properties have a fire door fitted in the flat entrance for yours and other tenants and residents safety.

Please do not carry out any modifications to this door as this may prevent the fire door from functioning correctly, which could put tenants and residents at risk in an emergency. This might also breach the fire door’s warranty, leading to additional replacement costs that could be better spent elsewhere to benefit our tenants.

All the components on a fire door consist of fire rated ironmongery and have been installed by an accredited FIRAS engineer.

If you identify any repairs to the fire door it is your responsibility to report these to Six Town Housing as a repair as soon as possible.

You must not paint, remove or alter any parts of the fire door or the door frame. This includes - the hinges, handles, lock, letter plate, seals, intumescent strips and door closer.

Where we identify that changes have been made to the fire door by a customer, that affect the fire doors performance then the customer will be recharged the full cost of any necessary remedial works to that fire door.
