From 1 February 2024, Bury Council is responsible for managing and maintaining all council homes previously supported by Six Town Housing.

A new foodbank has opened in Prestwich earlier this month at Heaton Park Methodist Church Hall, M25 1HX.
For just £3 per carrier bag, the foodbank provides a simple “shop” for people to come and choose a selection of goods they would find helpful. Bags are limited to one person and two per family.
As well as the foodbank, they also run a pay as you can café, with tea, coffee and simple refreshments if you’d like to stay and have a chat with one of their volunteers.
They’re also looking to build their stock over the coming month, so if you would like to donate, you can either drop the items off at one of their collection points at Prestwich Methodist Church, Heaton Park Methodist Church, or The Phoenix Centre. If dropping off isn’t possible for you, you can arrange for them to collect the items.
