The Housing Advisory Board (HAB) has been set up to monitor the performance of the Housing Service, ensuring the voice of the tenant is heard and acted upon.

The HAB helps to inform the Cabinet Member for Housing. The board is non-political and focuses on providing advice and guidance in the interests of all our tenants and leaseholders and those seeking a home.

The board is made up of elected members, a cabinet member, tenant representatives, independents, and Council officers.

Their first meeting in March 2024 consisted of formal training around the role of the HAB and information about the Social Housing regulatory framework, including the consumer standards and monitoring of the Housing Revenue Account.

The board will meet every 3 months and aims to meet in varied community hubs across the borough.
